It is both effective and gentle on the fibers of the carpet. Simply mix approximately 2 cups of warm water and 1 tablespoon of detergent together and blot it onto the stain with a clean white towel or cloth. Work the mixture thoroughly into the carpet to lift the stain out. Blot again with clean water and soak up the liquid with a clean dry white cloth and allow to air dry completely. Brush or rub the carpet to bring it back into shape once the area is dry.

Resin stains can appear on your furniture much like stains on the carpet. It is important to treat the furniture with a clean white towel or cloth that has been soaked with rubbing alcohol or turpentine.
