King Canopy began as a family business in 1940 and has been providing outdoor coverings such as cabanas, canopies and other covers ever since. Various sizes are available including kennel covers, pup tents, 10 foot by 27 foot canopies, 10 foot by 10 foot canopies and the original 10 foot by 20 foot King Canopy. Setting up your new King Canopy is easy with just a few steps.

Making Sure You Have All Necessary Parts

  • Start by laying all of your parts out and making sure you have all of the necessary pieces. You don’t want to be halfway finished only to find out that you are missing something. The 10 foot by 20 foot King Canopy should have eighteen 68-inch galvanized pipes, six 52-inch galvanized pipes, six 3-way corners, three 4-way corners, 50 elastic ball straps and one canopy cover. If you are missing anything, contact your dealer or customer service.

Creating The Canopy Frame

  • Set aside six of the 68-inch pipes to use for the canopy’s legs. Begin joining the 52-inch and 68-inch pipes by inserting the male end of the 52-inch pipe into the female end of the 68-inch pipe.

It is best to begin attaching the pipes beginning with the center of your canopy’s frame. Begin by inserting your pipes into one 3-way corner to form the end of your center frame. The other side of this set of pipes should be connected to one end of a 4-way corner. Insert another set of pipes into the opposite end of the 4-way corner, capping it off with a 3-way corner. From each of your 3-way corners, you should now attach a 68-inch pipe into each side. Insert another 3-way corner into the ends of your 68-inch pipes; this forms the corners of your canopy. From this point, attach another set of joined pipes into your canopy corners to begin forming the sides of your canopy. Each set of joined pipes should be attached in the middle of the side by a 4-way corner. After you have finished this, you will simply need two more 68-inch pipes, and each needs to be inserted from the 4-way corner in the side’s center and joined at the center of the canopy.

Attaching the Canopy Cover

  • Unfold the cover, placing it over the canopy’s frame with the grommets at the bottom. Use the elastic ball straps, beginning by using two straps at each of the canopy’s four corners. Insert the strap so that the ball is on the inside of the canopy cover for optimal appearance. Continue attaching the elastic ball straps, working from left to right along the canopy’s sides and then working from front to back until you have secured all of your straps.

Finishing Touches

  • Insert the canopy legs that you previously set aside, starting with the middle leg on one side and then the end legs on the same side. Repeat the process for the opposite side of your canopy. Your King Canopy is now completely assembled; however, for maximum durability and stability, you may want to purchase and install canopy anchors to prevent wind damage. Otherwise, your canopy could blow away or collapse in severe winds.
