Verizon is one of the country’s largest phone utilities, providing phone services as well as high speed Internet and television. Verizon offers a fully capable voice mail system for a minimal cost and is included in some of their package deals. As it is, voice mail has almost made the answering machine obsolete. If you have Verizon, there’s a good chance you have Verizon voice mail. Checking your email from home or away is very easy and convenient.
Pros and Cons

No longer having to buy your own answering system or maintain it is a pro and a con because, while you don’t have to worry about it breaking or having to replace it, you are constantly paying for voicemail. The biggest benefit is that your Verizon voice mail will likely be a lot more reliable, and there are no worries about whether it’s turned on or not.
Dial your access number, which may be the same as your home number. This is true whether you are at home or away. When the system picks up, hit the star (*) key on the phone. Enter your passcode. Listen to the instructions. You will need to hit the number "1" key to listen to your messages.
