Dry shampoo is easy to use, and it can help fix bedhead hair when applied correctly. It works by absorbing excess oil and giving hair a clean-looking sheen without having to wet and lather. The key to dry shampoo is to use it sparingly--too much can give hair a white, chalky appearance.
To use dry shampoo to fix bedhead hair, spray a bit of the product into your hand or directly onto the part of your hair. Hold the can at an angle about three inches from your scalp when spraying directly onto your hair. Part your hair in the middle and at the sides, and spritz the dry shampoo close to the roots.
Using your fingers, massage the dry shampoo into your roots to allow the product to absorb the oil and give your hair that just-washed appearance. Use a rat-tail comb to tease your roots slightly to give your hair volume. Bedhead is often flat and limp, but massaging it with the dry shampoo and then teasing it out will solve this problem. Another way to add volume is to flip your head over and tease the back of your hair. Also, remember to spritz dry shampoo in the back of your head to make sure the hair there isn't left looking oily.
