Your tenth week of pregnancy is an exciting and rapidly changing time. Your baby is a little over an inch in size. You cannot feel your baby's movements, but your body is certainly on the move in many different directions, and you may start to feel all kinds of symptoms by this point in your pregnancy.

Pregnancy Symptoms at 10 Weeks

Pressure in your lower abdomen can start to occur around the tenth week of your pregnancy. Your uterus is growing and an increase of blood flow is occurring in the abdominal region. Frequent urination is a common symptom during this time. You may also notice a little bulge starting to form in your abdominal area. Ligament pain in the abdomen might occur as your muscles begin to stretch. Ligament pain can be treated with rest and getting off of your feet. Keep in mind if the pain is sharp or cramping and not relieved with rest, you should consult with your health care provider.

You will be feeling tired in the tenth week of pregnancy. Increasing levels of progesterone are being produced, along with your blood volume increasing, which makes your heart work harder at pumping. This can make you feel drained. Get plenty of rest during this time.

Nausea and vomiting can also occur during the tenth week of pregnancy. This is common. Do not try and skip meals, this only increases the queasiness. Try to eat a few crackers and drink ginger ale to calm down your stomach.

Constipation is another common problem at this time. Eat foods high in fiber and try to exercise to keep things moving along.

Your breasts may have become very tender during this time. Breasts may even hurt with a gentle touch. Invest in a good support bra to wear.

Indigestion and heartburn, along with flatulence is a symptom at ten weeks gestation. Eating sitting up and don't lay down after eating to help with these symptoms. Certain foods that cause gas such as broccoli and beans, should be avoided to help with this problem.

You may notice an increase in vaginal discharge. Discharge appears thin and milky-white in color. Increasing estrogen hormones in your body during this time accounts for the discharge.

Faintness, dizziness and headaches can occur during your tenth week of pregnancy. Hormones increasing in your body can cause headaches as your body tries to adjust to the increased blood flow can make you feel faint or dizzy.

Veins may start to be visible across your breasts and abdomen due to your blood supply increasing. Veins will gradually disappear.

Considerations

Feeling emotional and moody during this time is normal. Your body is adjusting to an increase in hormones, and just being pregnant is an emotional time for most women.

Symptoms should subside within a month or so as your body adjusts to the changes. If you are feeling anxious or unsure of a particular symptom, consult your physician.
