Hold your Wii Remote like it's a batarang--"LEGO Batman" is on the Wii. As you take control of not only Gotham's greatest heroes, but also its greatest villains, you'll need to build your way out of LEGO puzzles and bust your enemies back into building blocks. Play the game alone or with a friend for a co-op adventure.

Controls

Both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck are required for gameplay, and their combined use control the LEGO versions of Batman and Robin. Using the analog stick on the Nunchuck, you can guide the dynamic duo around the streets of Gotham. Press the “A” button on the Wii Remote to perform a jump, and press the trigger, also known as the “B” button, to perform a standard attack. Pressing “C” on the Nunchuck shifts the camera onto the other onscreen character, while pressing “1” or “2” will change which character you are controlling.

To throw a batarang, hold down “B,” and Batman will stand still with his arm back. Point at the screen with your Wii Remote and highlight all targets you want to hit with the weapon. Release “B,” and Batman will toss the batarang.

Any time you see a pile of LEGO pieces or need to perform one of your character’s special moves, press the “Z” button on the Nunchuck, which is context sensitive to the environment. Use this to scale walls with the grappling hook or build a vehicle to transport you across a chasm.

Game Play

"LEGO Batman" is a mission-based game where each level centers around Batman and Robin's attempt to foil the plot of a particular villain. You start each level fighting off a horde of henchman, after which you'll be required to solve various puzzles to progress through each room of the stage. At the end of the stage will be a boss fight. You may be forced to take out Clayface or face off against Harley Quinn in hand-to-hand combat. After finishing off the boss, you'll be awarded LEGO Studs based on your performance and sent back to the Batcave to plan for the next mission.

Once you've completed the game with Batman and Robin, you'll unlock two new modes. The first is Free Play, which allows you to reenter levels as different characters such as Batgirl and Alfred. Playing through the levels again will unlock bonus costumes, vehicles and characters.

After Batman and Robin have their shot at saving the city, your next task will be to take on the role of a villain. The villain side of the game reverses the storyline so you can see the lengths each of the game's antagonists went through to pull off their caper. Game play is similar to the earlier missions, except each villain has a special move, such as the Riddler's ability to control enemies.

Suits

One of the game’s main features is the use of different suits for Batman and Robin. Each one of these suits grants a special ability to the Dynamic Duo that they can use to bypass obstacles within the environment. For example, the demolition suit will turn Batman into a modern-day Bomberman, able to set and detonate bombs over weak structures. Meanwhile, Robin can equip the magnet suit, giving him the ability to walk up certain walls to reach platforms otherwise too high for standard jumping. Glowing spots on the ground will equip your character with the necessary suit to complete any nearby puzzles. Always be on the lookout for the next ability.
