We live in a world that can be terrifying. Muggers, carjacking, and gang warfare can happen every day in every country in the world. Many people carry guns to protect themselves, but many people don't. Learning self defense techniques may help you protect yourself from danger. These techniques should only be used for self protection and only after practice, and perfection.

    Palm Strike

  1. The palm strike is a powerful technique that can throw your attacker off balance. This will briefly immobilize them. Your striking hand should be opened. Make sure to hit with the heel of the hand. Push quickly from your shoulder in a fast, straight motion. Depending on the height of your assailant you will strike upward or downward. This technique can be used anywhere on the body, but is especially useful when applied to the neck, the forehead, the nose, and the throat.
  2. Ear Slap Technique

  3. This technique is simple to master. Slap the ear of the person confronting you. Don't use your fingers. Use the bottom of your palm to strike against the open ear hole. The power of your strike will knock your assailant off balance, Our equilibrium is in the ear, and if is disturbed, we get dizzy. Your strike will also create a brief, yet powerful vacuum in the ear. This may pop the ear drum, and incapacitate your attacker. Practice your precision with this technique on a ball or mannequin head.
  4. The V-Trigger

  5. If your assailant is holding one of your wrist or hands, the v-trigger technique will get them to let go quickly and give you time to flee or react further. Make a fist with your free hand and rap your knuckles as hard as you can against the hand holding yours. Aim for the area between the fingers, as these contain important nerves.
  6. Shin Insertion

  7. If your assailant grabs both of your hands, the shin insertion will likely get him to let go, giving you the momentary distraction you need to defend yourself. Pick a foot up and hold it at a 45% angle to your attackers shin. Stomp on your assailant's foot, and dig your foot into his leg, dragging your foot from the toe to the heel. This will be incredibly painful, as you will be scraping your foot against several vital nerves.
