- Patients with a stomach parasite may experience abnormal bowel movements, and their stools may change from bloody to greasy. Some may experience diarrhea, perhaps with cramping and pain. Flatulence, nausea and loss of appetite are common. If the condition is left untreated, malnutrition or severe weight loss may set in.
- Although not exactly a food, black walnut oil has been considered an excellent remedy for stomach parasites. Put a drop or two in water and drink it two times a day. The oil in the black walnut will cause the parasites to leave the body through excretion. Black walnut oil can be found in most health food stores, or online.
- Pumpkin seeds and onions mixed with soymilk can fight parasite infestation. The pumpkin seeds may be eaten alone. Or you may try raw garlic. Other foods said to help include beets, carrots, pomegranates, and pineapple. A mix of papaya seeds with honey has been found to be effective. Drink a lot of water to help bowel movement. Foods that are full of fiber can also help.
- Avoid dairy, simple carbohydrates, junk food, and canned goods. Parasites feed on sugars, so stay away from anything that contains sugar, including refined foods, juice, fruit and dairy. Honey, though, is OK.
