- The weed killer works best on warm sunny days when the temperature exceeds 60 degrees. Conversely, the product must be reapplied if it rains within 24 hours after the chemical is applied. Therefore, only use the product on warm days and when no rain is in the weather forecast. Finally, apply the weed killer only when the air is calm to avoid the spray inadvertently drifting to desirable foliage.
- Only use a spray container made of plastic, stainless steal, or aluminum, rather than a container made of galvanized or unlined steel. Killzall weed killer is a concentrate, meaning that it must first be mixed with water. Fill the container with the desired amount of water, then add the weed killer. Five teaspoons of week killer should be added for each gallon of water. For example, if the spray container holds three gallons, 15 tablespoons of weed killer must be added to the three gallons of water.
- Adjust the nozzle on the spray container to produce a coarse spray, then spray the chemical until the area to be treated is fully saturated. Use a piece of cardboard or a plastic shield to protect desirable plants from spray or drift caused by a sudden breeze. Reapply the weed killer if the weeds or plants have not completely died within four weeks.
- If spraying around fruit or nut-producing trees, wait at least 21 days before consuming the fruit or nuts. Also, the chemicals in the weed spray are extremely harmfully if ingested or absorbed through the skin, so a long-sleeve shirt and gloves should be worn when mixing and spraying the weed killer. Consult a doctor or Poison Control Center if the chemical is ingested or absorbed through the skin.
