Homemade foot soaks are great ways to relax and cleanse the body and feet at home, saving money and time from going to a spa. While escaping to a spa is ideal to unwind, making your own foot soak detox is simple and composed of ingredients you may find at a health food store or pharmacy. Use a foot detox to relax and rejuvenate tired feet, as well as draw out toxins and impurities that are bogging down the body.

    Rejuvenating Foot Soak

  1. In addition to detoxing the feet, soaking them at home with homemade recipes is economical and relaxing. The use of essential oils such as lavender for relaxation or peppermint oil for energizing is ideal to clear the mind of stress and improve well-being. Once simple foot soak detox is to mix ½ cup of sea salt with a gallon of boiling water, and allow to cool before sticking the feet in. The salt will relax the feet and reduce swelling or stiffness. The salt will also draw out toxins and excess water, reducing water retention.

Soothing foot soaks that relax and detox the body include the sea salt in addition to essential oils. Combine a gallon of boiling water with two drops of essential oil such as lavender or sandlewood, and ¼ cup of sea salt. The salt will detox the feet, while the essential oils provide relaxation to the mind and body. Peppermint oil is rejuvenating and may also be used for a foot soak. Combine one gallon of boiling water and three drops of peppermint oil. Allow the water to cool, and soak feet to feel rejuvenated and relaxed.
  2. Clay Foot Bath

  3. Bentonite clay is beneficial when drawing out toxins, because it attracts such pollutants as metal, chemicals and pollutants you absorb into the body from the environment and diet, according to Colon Zone. To create a detox foot bath using bentonite clay, mix two cups with one gallon of hot water and allow to cool before soaking the feet. Allow the feet to sit in the detox clay for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
