Post Nissen Diet
Nissen surgery corrects severe acid reflux by making a new valve mechanism at the lower esophagus to stop the reflux. The surgeon either stitches the incision closed or uses tape and bandages. If you've had or about to have this surgery, you can normally go home the day after surgery, but full recovery can take up to 6 weeks. During that time, you may have difficulty swallowing and bloating and pain after eating. A progression from a clear to soft foods diet can minimize these symptoms.
