- Use a chemical paint remover, which is one of the easiest and most effective ways of removing paint. Chemical paint removals can be purchased at hardware stores in several forms, such as liquid or paste. Place the chemical lightly on the area of the paint that you want removed. The chemical softens the paint. Then you can remove it using light heat or sand paper. Place the chemicals in a spray bottle and spray on the paint to make application easier.
- Use a hand sander or sand paper to remove paint from its surface. If the surface that you are removing the paint from isn't delicate and will not be damaged, sand paper will work. Use it carefully since it can be quite rough. Be sure that you are not chipping the area that you are working on.
- Remove the unwanted paint using a heat gun. Use the heat gun while administering a small amount of heat. Guide the heat gun across the object in a circular motion using the heat setting s recommended by the manufacturer. Practice caution in using heat so that you don't damage the surface. Move the heat gun back and forth as not to allow the heat to stay in one place for more than 10 seconds. After you apply the heat, use a small paint scrapper to remove the paint once it begins to bubble. You can use a putty knife to softly scrap the paint away.
