- Fall is known for is maple syrup. It's when trees start to pass sap and the smell of maple cookies is found in mom's kitchen. Guests will appreciate these fond memories. Buy a large quantity of maple syrup and fill leaf-shaped bottles. You can find fall-theme bottles at most dollar stores or online. Add a small tag around the neck of the bottle with a message thanking guests for attending, or add a fall themed poem.
- Miniature pumpkins are a great easy favor to make because you don't have to do much. Purchase several miniature pumpkins and create a tag (with a thank message or fall poem/saying) on cardstock, then punch a hole through it and tie it onto the stem of the pumpkin. If the wedding is near Halloween you might decorate the pumpkins with faces by drawing on them with permanent markers, or leave markers out for guests to decorate pumpkins.
- Make some custom gel filled candles and place fake leaves inside to give them a unique fall look. Find some interesting vases or small plastic or glass containers. You can usually find fun vases and containers at dollar stores. Create the gel mix for the candle and pour it into the vase. Drop plastic, silk or laminated leaf shapes into each vase. You can also drop in acorns, miniature pumpkin shapes or other fall shapes. Use fall colors such as orange, brown, yellow and rustic red. Wrap a ribbon around the vase for a finishing touch.
- Give your guests a fall favor snack. Roast nuts at home and package them in cellophane or a decorative box. Add a tag that tells guests what the nuts are and a message thanking guests for coming to the wedding.
- Make cookies shaped like fall objects. Bake cookies and use cookie cutters such as pumpkins, turkeys, leaves and gourds to create fun designs. Frost them and package them in cellophane. Add a tag with a thank you message.
