- Embossing tools can add an extra element to your birthday party invitations, graduation party invitations, or even your wedding invitations or save-the-date cards. Use an embossing pen to trace your names or the wedding date to highlight that important part of the invitation. Then, use colored embossing powder to cover the area you traced. Heat with a heat gun. This will leave the portion you traced a different color--as well as sparkly if you wish--and glossy in comparison to the rest of the invitation. Consider drawing a border or small heart on the envelopes for embossing to add yet another special touch to your wedding invitations.
- Use a combination of heat and embossing ink to create personalized greeting cards for friends and family. Use any rubber stamp that you already own or purchase a new one for a special occasion. Ink the stamp with embossing ink and simply use the your embossing heat tool to melt the ink into the glossy finish. Emboss the front of the card as well as an image on the inside of the card if you wish. Using different colored embossing ink can help you to create not only a personalized card, but an artful keepsake as well.
- By layering embossing powder and heating it in between layers, you can create a glossy image that can resemble glass. Start by embossing a few images as you would do normally. Then, while the embossed layer is still sticky, cover the entire space with more clear embossing ink. It will look like you have wrecked your images underneath, but by covering the layer of ink in clear embossing powder and applying heat, the images from underneath will come through, bold and beautiful. Repeat this process until you have formed a thick, glossy layer. Once the layers have dried, crack the tile to give the feeling of glass. Use this tile in a greeting card or frame it as a special gift.
