- For light layers of dust, use a household duster to gently brush the shades clean. Perform this task regularly to prevent dust build-up. You can also use a hair dryer set on a cool setting to blow dust off. Vacuum the dust that settles onto the floor.
- For dirtier shades that haven't been dusted in a while, vacuum the shades with the hose and a brush attachment. Gently run the vacuum brush in the direction of the shades to remove dust and dirt. Perform vacuuming as required to keep your shades clean. Note that Hunter Douglas warns against using a brush for any Luminette or Park Lane products, so do not vacuum these shades.
- Clean any dirt spots or stains with a soft cloth and solution of distilled water and mild detergent. Apply the solution to your shades and then use the cloth to gently wipe down the affected areas. Hunter Douglas suggests that you gently blot the spots rather than rubbing to protect the fabric and structure of the shade.
