Atlanta, the capital and most populous city in Georgia, is a modern city known for its architecture, green spaces and plethora of fun things to do for visitors of all ages. Atlanta is home to Fortune 500 companies such as Coca-Cola, Home Depot and AT&T as well as the news organization, CNN. These companies combine learning with fun at such sites as Coca-Cola's World of Coca-Cola and the CNN Center. (see Resource 1)

    The World of Coca-Cola.

  1. This attraction is located in Pemberton Place in downtown. The site tells the story of this iconic American beverage through audio-visual displays, art and films. Visitors can sample a variety of Coca-Cola products at the end of their stay. The World of Coca-Cola is open every day except Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Discounts are offered for seniors and those 3-12 years of age. Children age 3 and younger are admitted free.

  2. CNN Center

  3. The world headquarters of this news organization welcomes visitors to tour its studio daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tour includes a visit to the control room, a demonstration of the technology used to produce CNN broadcasts and newsroom views from the CNN overlook. (see Reference 1)

  4. Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site

  5. The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site is located in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of Atlanta. The site is comprised of several buildings, including King's birth home; Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King and his father were preachers; and a visitor's center. The site is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Admission is free.

  6. Fernbank Science Center

  7. Atlanta's Fernbank Science Center, located northeast of downtown, features a variety of learning exhibits, including a planetarium, a 65-acre forest to explore, an exhibition hall with 9,000 square feet of learning exhibits and a weather lab. The center is open every day except Sundays. Admission to the center is free; there is a small fee for the planetarium shows. (see Reference 2)
