Pajama parties are a classic way for pre-teen and teenage girls to celebrate their birthdays and often supply a lot of laughs and memories. Since pajama parties last longer than the average birthday party and sleep is not usually part of the schedule of events, it's important to have several entertaining birthday party games, which can range from silly to scary, but most are sure to please any group of young girls.

    Truth or Dare

  1. No slumber party would be complete without a round of Truth or Dare, a must when it comes to pajama party games. To keep this game tame and good-intentioned, parents should come up with a stack of appropriate "Truth" questions and a stack of "Dare" questions before the party begins. When the girls play they can choose to answer either a "Truth" or "Dare" question. The best Truth or Dare games involve a lot of silly, light-hearted "Truth" or "Dare" prompts that will keep the girls laughing for hours.
  2. Toilet Paper Prom Dress

  3. There's nothing young girls love more than fashion, and the Toilet Paper Prom Dress game is a great way to spark the girls' fashion sense and creativity while also providing laughs. The girls should be divided into groups and given four rolls of toilet paper per group. One girl in each group should be designated the model, and the other girls use the toilet paper to design a prom dress on her. The birthday girl or one of her parents can serve as judge to determine which group made the best dress and that group can be awarded prizes such as makeup or candy.
  4. Murder Mystery

  5. Since pajama parties take place in the wee hours of the night, a little scary fun should definitely be included in the events. Murder Mystery is an easy-to-play birthday party game for a pajama party that will keep guests attentive and entertained.

Parents should cut out slips of paper for every party guest, writing "Murderer" on just one of the slips and leaving the others blank. The girls then draw a slip of paper without showing it to anyone else. During the course of the party the Murderer "kills" other party guests by winking at them. If a guest is winked at she should count to 3 and fall on the floor. If one of the girls thinks she can tell who the Murderer is, she can make an accusation at any time, but if she is wrong she then has to "die."
  6. Blind Makeovers

  7. Makeup and makeovers always play a central role in any sleepover, making this hilarious Blind Makeover a great birthday party game for a pajama party.

Guests draw numbers to determine what order they will go in to get their makeover. The first girl is blindfolded and has to apply makeup to the second girl, then the second girl is blindfolded and has to apply makeup to the third girl, and so on until every girl has had her "makeover." A prize should be given to the girl who gave the worst makeover. This game is sure to provide great photo opps and a lot of laughs.
