Cheats for Sims 2 Open for Business

"The Sims 2: Open for Business" is the third expansion-pack installment in the "The Sims 2" series and can be played on several gaming consoles and operating systems, including PS2, Xbox, Mac and Windows. Cheats are normally reserved for PC versions of the game because they can be typed in with a keyboard. "The Sims 2: Open for Business" brings a fresh, new approach to the game and allows sims to run businesses such as bakeries and restaurants. Like for preceding "The Sims" games, there are cheats that will improve gameplay and make the overall experience easier and more exciting.

Money & Buildings

"The Sims 2: Open for Business" includes the same building options as other "The Sims" games and expansion packs, such as "Nightlife" and "University". While building, you may discover that you are restricted to zoning rules and are therefore unable to place objects in locations such as doorways or driveways.

Press "Ctrl", "Shift" and "C" simultaneously to open the cheat bar at the top of the game screen. The cheat bar will appear as a thin white bar with a blinking cursor. Enter the cheat "moveObjects on" and press "Enter". After you have entered this cheat, you will be able to place objects on any location in the entire lot. This cheat is also very useful when placing objects in diagonal positions, like tables and chairs in restaurants. Make sure to turn the cheat off after using it by re-opening the cheat bar and typing in "moveObjects off". Save your game after building if you want to keep any new changes. This cheat is not applicable while in the neighborhood game screen and is only available for use while you are on a lot.

Money cheats are also great to use when your sim or sim family is short on funds or need to build a business. Simoleons (sim money) can be added to your sim's bank account in amounts of 1,000 or 50,000. To add 1,000 simoleons to your sim's account, open the cheat bar by pressing "Ctrl", "Shift" and "C" simultaneously, type in "kaching" and press "Enter". For 50,000 simoleons, type in "motherlode".

Money can also be removed from your sim's account. To remove money, type in "familyfunds (sim's last name) (-) (amount of simoleons). For example, to remove 200 simoleons from Johnny Frank's account, you would type in "family funds (Frank) (-) (200)" and press "Enter". The amount will be immediately withdrawn from the account. If for any reason you decide to add the money back to the account, you can add it back by using the "kaching" or "motherlode" cheats. Note that while entering cheats, quotations are not to be included.

Sim Related

Players can also use cheats that will directly affect sims. Sim-related cheats can affect sims on many levels, such as age, height, pregnancies and even vital needs, including hunger and energy. Increase a sim's vital needs by opening the cheat bar and entering the cheat "maxMotives". This cheat will automatically increase the needs of every family sim living on the lot. Visiting sims that are on the lot are not affected by the cheat. The "maxMotives" cheat is ideal to use if your sim is running low on needs and there is not enough time to feed or bathe him.

Pregnancies can also be affected by cheats. To create a set of twins, enter the cheat "forcetwins" in the cheat bar. This cheat must be entered while a sim is pregnant and cannot be used before or after actual pregnancy. The "forcetwins" cheat also works for male sims that have been impregnated during an alien abduction.

Ages of sims can also be altered through the use of cheats. The cheat "aging off" ceases age progression for every family sim living on the lot.
