Every woman should own at least one pair of fashion boots. Today's versatile boots can accessorize virtually any look from ultra dressy to super casual. When selecting the proper fashion boot for a particular ensemble, first consider your personal style and comfort instead of the latest trends. Face it, a miniskirt and stiletto boots are not appropriate for everyone. Open your closet and experiment with the different ways to wear fashion boots.

    Ankle Boots

  1. Ankle boots tend to suit women with elongated torsos and legs. These fashion boots visually stop the eye at the ankle, making a short frame appear even shorter. If you are a risk taker, show off your bare legs by wearing spike-heeled ankle boots with short shorts or a short skirt just like Hollywood celebrities. To complete this signature look, don a vintage T-shirt and unconstructed jacket, boyfriend sweater or retro peasant blouse. Team ankle boots with a short skirt and a pair of tights for cooler weather. Petite women can carry off ankle boots by pairing them with skinny or bootcut jeans.
  2. Knee-High Boots

  3. Knee-highs are ideal for all body types. They are the most versatile of the fashion boots. Designers even feature knee-high boots during the summer with shorts or a short skirt. Practically speaking, knee-high boots look great with long skirts, gauchos, dresses, pants and jeans. Knee-high boots are easy to pair with almost any outfit. Remember to keep the style of boot consistent with your clothing. Obviously, resist the urge to mix patent leather knee-high boots with sweatpants.
  4. Tall Boots

  5. Tall boots range from just above the knee to thigh high. The best way to wear tall boots is with a skirt or dress that skims the top of the boot shaft. This encompasses minis to knee-length hemlines. Add warmth and color with a pair of tights or hose. Extra skinny jeans or leggings with a pair of tall boots give the illusion of a longer silhouette. Pull the look together with a long cardigan or jacket. Choose stretchy tall boots that hug the leg or leather boots with a slight slouch. For a classic feel, wear tall boots with a slim cocktail dress, wrap dress or simple sweater dress. Avoid wearing tall boots with overly romantic clothing styles. Think simple and sleek.
  6. Biker Boots

  7. Rock your wardrobe with a pair of biker boots. To avoid looking like a Halloween costume, pair your biker boots with unexpected wardrobe pieces. Stay away from leather pants, biker jackets and leather caps. Soften your biker boots with an oversized cashmere boyfriend sweater, long scarf and a denim miniskirt. A basic black knit mini dress with a black leather jacket will take your biker boots to a hip gallery opening. Goth it up with a floor length black flowing dress, biker boots and a short tailored black trench.
