The Bosch jigsaw is a hand power saw used for cutting precise corners. Bosch jigsaws are compact and were the first jigsaws on the market with a tool-less blade change system, making them innovators in the field. Knowing how to use your Bosch jigsaw properly is the key to quality work and safety.

    Blade

  1. Bosch recommends always choosing a blade for your jigsaw specifically designed for the task you are performing. You can make the Bosch jigsaw cut more efficiently by adjusting the plunger speed, how fast the jigsaw cuts, and the blade orbit for the specific job at hand. If you have to run the tool at low speed the engine temperature will noticeably rise. Bosch recommends you run the tool at full speed for several minutes after this to protect the saw from overheating.
  2. Maintenance

  3. Always check for bends or misalignment in the blade before using the jigsaw. A bent blade can cause serious injury if it were to break during the cut. Make sure the blade is sharpened as well. After use, extract the dust from your Bosch jigsaw. Many Bosch models come with a dust extraction port where you can attach a vacuum to clean the unit thoroughly. Have a Bosch service station change the bearings of your jigsaw every 300 to 400 hours of service.
  4. Safety

  5. Unplug your jigsaw before making any blade replacements or adjustments. If the jigsaw is operated by a battery, remove the battery before adjustments. Secure the surface you are working on by clamping it down with a vice. You never want to cut wood that is moving as it may squeeze the blade or move it off course. Never force a blade if it is not cutting. Turn off the tool and move it backwards in the cut until it is free. Always wear safety goggles when cutting wood.
