For many people, hair that grows fast is a good thing. But as far as body and facial hair, maybe not so much. It's high maintenance and it can take a lot of time and money to remove. If you wish to slow down hair growth, there are a few methods that may work. However, the speed of hair growth is genetic; understand that it might not be possible to change it at all.

Waxing

Go to a salon or spa and have the area waxed. It's painful, but hair does grow back finer and more slowly afterwards.

Vaniqa

Vaniqa is an FDA-approved hair inhibitor available in stores. While other products of this sort exist, only Vaniqa has been clinically proven to slow down hair growth in some individuals.

Soy

Soy products can inhibit testosterone, which contributes to hair growth. You can consume soy foods or try rubbing soy milk on patches of unwanted body hair. Soy milk with a soy isoflavone solution added to it may enhance the effect. But keep in mind that too much soy can also lead to a hormonal imbalance.

Tip

Slowing down hair growth will not show instantaneous results. Be patient and ready to commit weeks or months to the process, and be willing to try different techniques if you discover one way isn't working for you.

Warning

Be skeptical of hair growth inhibiting products like Kalo. Unless you see an FDA stamp of approval or some clinical tests with proven results, be sure to research any product before you try it.
