Being romantic doesn't require a lot of money. Money cannot buy you love or happiness, but doing simple things for your significant other can. When being romantic, it's the simple gestures that are the most memorable. From simple picnics to little notes, romance doesn't have to be difficult.

    Sticky Notes

  1. Leave sticky notes in places your significant other frequents. For example, if he or she visits the coffee pot first thing in the morning, leave a note that says "I love you" or a favorite romantic quote on the coffeemaker. This gesture lets the other person know you are thinking about him or her.
  2. E-Cards

  3. Send a romantic or funny e-card to your significant other's email while he or she is away at work. Many e-card services allow you to personalize a card with favorite sayings, the person's name, and your signature. By sending an e-card, which many online services offer for free, you may brighten that person's day when he or she sees it's from you.
  4. Indoor/Outdoor Picnics

  5. Have a picnic either outside or in your living room. All you need is a blanket, disposable dishes, soup or sandwiches and a favorite beverage. If you're having an outdoor picnic, take a trip to your local park or even your backyard. If you're having an indoor picnic, turn down the lights and light some candles. While eating, take the time to have a deep conversation, which may help the two of you become closer.
  6. Bubble Baths

  7. Share a bubble bath with your significant other. A warm bath is soothing, making you and your lover more relaxed. Scents such as vanilla, jasmine and lavender help with relaxation, while citrus scents are more energizing. While sharing the bath, light some candles, which will also set a relaxing mood.
  8. Play Scrabble

  9. Enjoy a game of Scrabble with each other. Instead of keeping score, choose a category and create words that fit into that category. For example, use "romance" or "animals" for a category, then you and your partner have to create words such as "love," "emotion," "tiger," or "lynx" to fulfill these categories. The games last longer, but require a lot of creativeness. Break the Scrabble rules and collaborate on words together.
  10. Make Dinner Together

  11. Create a dish both of you will love and can work together on. If one person knows how to cook better than the other, or if neither can cook that well at all, you can take the opportunity to learn something new while reveling in the joy of being together.
