Who Is At Risk?According to Mothernature.com, by the time Americans reach 55 years old, about 30 percent of Caucasian men and 20 percent of Caucasian women have blood pressure above the recommended level of 140. Generally the ratio of a healthy high blood pressure to heart rate is 140/90. About 50 percent of African-American men and 40 percent of African-American women of the same age were at risk for high blood pressure. About 50 percent of people with high blood pressure may not know it.
Generally, doctors recommend getting your blood pressure checked every other year, more often if you have hypertension.

Beet JuiceDrinking about 500ml of beet juice a day can significantly lower blood pressure, according to a study published in 2008 by researchers at the William Harvey Research Institute at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Peninsula Medical School. The researchers credit the nitrate in beet juice for helping lower blood pressure. In that study, they found blood pressure dropped within an hour of consuming beet juice, and blood pressure level dropped even further three to four hours later. Effects continued up to 24 hours after beet juice was ingested.
Researchers say that saliva interacting with the nitrate in beet juice creates the nitrite that lowers blood pressure.

JuicingUse organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible to reduce the number of toxins you ingest from pesticides.
Consume 8 oz. carrot juice, 4 oz. celery juice, 2 oz. parsley juice and 4 oz. spinach juice daily if you have high blood pressure. Use a juicer that is powerful enough to do this as some home juicers cannot juice carrots.
As the study above mentions, consuming up to 500ml of beet juice appears to lower blood pressure.
All of these vegetable juices make the blood more alkaline and can help remove cholesterol deposits on arteries that lead to the heart.
