Homemade Pirate Wench Costume
Pirate costumes are always a popular choice for Halloween. While costumes can be expensive (costing $50 or more for ones that boast relatively cheap material), making your costume at home is an affordable option. No-sew costumes are an even better choice as they can be done in a matter of hours without having to thread a needle.

The Basic
-
Purchase an oversize brown or black T-shirt that reaches to your knees (or below). Once at home, try the shirt on and mark zig-zags along the bottom, collar and sleeves with a piece of chalk or pencil. Remove the shirt, and then make the cuts. It is preferable if you have a friend make the outlines for you, but you can do it yourself and straighten the zig-zags when you are not wearing the T-shirt.
The Corset or Waist Cincher
-
Go to your local lingerie store or costume store. You can choose to either purchase a full corset (usually one that does not cover the bust) or a waist cincher. You will wear the corset or waist cincher over your T-shirt, so you might want to consider bringing the T-shirt in with you when you try it on.
The Accessories
-
Purchase a pirate hat. Think about other accessories a pirate wench might wear, such as gold hoop earrings (which can be purchased cheaply at your local chain jewelry store). Scarves are also a great accessory for pirate wenches, which can be worn around the head or tied to your arm or leg. Purchase tights (either striped or solid) and wear a pair of boots (preferably boots with heels). You might want to finish off your look with something like an eye patch or using special makeup that blackens out some of your teeth.
