Herbal Hair Rinses

Herbal hair rinses can be made at home and are 100% natural. If you have blonde hair or your hair has blonde highlights, you use chamomile tea to highlight your hair. Steep chamomile until it makes a nice strong tea, then let it cool. Once the cool, mix three cups of chamomile and one cup of lemon juice together. Apply this mixture to your hair and let it sit for at least an hour. You can do a similar rinse for dark hair with tea made from nettle, sage or rosemary. To boost the color for these teas, add a cup of brewed coffee or steeped walnut husk to the tea instead of lemon juice.
Henna Hair Dye

Henna is one of the best natural hair dyes available. It has been used for centuries around the globe to cover gray and enhance natural color. To make a natural henna hair dye, you will need one 200 gm packet of henna, an egg yolk, a tsp of rum and a tsp of coffee powder. Make a paste by mixing all of the ingredients together and allow the paste to steep for at least 12 hours. Then, apply the paste to your hair and let it sit for 2 hours. Rinse it clean and use a natural conditioner like olive or jojoba oil.

Vegetable Hair Dye

Many vegetables have a color pigment that can stain, which makes them a natural choice for a homemade hair dye. To make a a red hair dye, mix equal parts beet and carrot juice together. You will apply this mixture to your hair and use heat from the sun or a blow dryer to help the color set. Rinse the juice from your hair after about 15 minutes. If the color is not rich enough, repeat the process until you get your desired results.
