- Accent a pillar candle with bamboo or sticks to create a natural-looking centerpiece. This centerpiece coordinates well with greens and browns. Use hot glue to glue bamboo sticks or sticks around the outside of the candle. (If you intend to burn the candle, use sticks several inches shorter than the candle.) You may have to hold each stick in place for a minute while the glue sets up. After the glue is dry, either set the candle on a plate or mirror as-is, or place it in a glass jar. Tie a ribbon matching the wedding's colors around the glass to add to the décor.
- Use multiple sized candles to make a breakaway centerpiece. Put a large cake or pillar candle in a clear glass jar, on a plate or on a mirror. Scatter stones or glass gems around the candle. Set this piece in the center of the table. Make a small version of this with votive candles. Arrange the small candles around the larger one. Arrange so one sits for every seat. This method works best for round tables. For square or rectangle tables, arrange the candles in a line.
- Arrange a wreath of flowers and place it at the base of the candle. Use a foam ring to hold the flowers in place. Set the candle in the foam ring. The ring should sit at the bottom of the candle. Arrange the flowers so the foam doesn't show. Set the candle and wreath on a plate or mirror. If the candle is lit, wax may drip onto the flowers and plate if lit too long. To add to the centerpiece, scatter flower petals or small flowers around the candle.
- Floating candles come in different shapes and colors, so you can coordinate them to the rest of the wedding. To float the candles, put rocks or decorations in a clear bowl. Fill half way with water. If you want to add a little color, drop a few drops of food coloring in the water before you pour it. Set the candles inside. Right before the wedding or reception, have someone light all the candles.
