- The school day starts super early, and often teachers can use a little pick me up to kick off their days. If you notice that your teacher is always sipping coffee, treat them to a new coffee mug and a bag of gourmet coffee. Coffee mug and coffee gift sets are often sold at miscellaneous gift stores, department stores, and even housewares stores and tend to be affordable. If your teacher prefers tea instead, gift him or her with a coffee mug and tea instead. For the coffee mug, try to purchase one that says " No. 1 Teacher" or "Best Teacher" or that comes in the teacher's favorite color.
- Surprise your teacher with a small gift of sweet treats. Get your teacher a small gift box of chocolates or his or her favorite candy. There are generally a variety of candy, cookie and chocolate stores in malls, and around Christmastime they tend to feature gift bags and boxes. Try to pay attention to what types of sweets your teacher likes to eat, or ask another teacher if they know or can find out. If your budget is extremely small, as most students are, bake your teacher a batch of his or her favorite cookies, put them in plastic gift bags and tie them with a ribbon.
- Get your teacher a gift certificate to the movie theater that is closest to your school. This gift is a step up from traditional secret Santa knickknack gift and is sure to be enjoyable by the teacher that you're trying to surprise. If you have a small budget, purchase a gift certificate for one movie ticket, then toss a couple of bags of popcorn and candy into a gift bag to make your movie gift set complete. If you have a larger budget, buy a gift certificate for two movie tickets and still include the popcorn and candy. Getting your teacher a gift certificate to the movies also takes the hassle out of trying to find a movie that he or she will like.
