Hair loss, split ends, and overly dry hair are familiar symptoms of damage in black hair. Using too much heat or harsh chemicals are common ways of destroying your hair without realizing it. Deep conditioning treatments for black hair can help to stop the breakage before it becomes irreparable.

    Olive Oil & Honey

  1. Combine one tbsp. of olive oil and one tbsp. of honey to create a deep conditioning treatment. Completely melt the mixture in the microwave for a maximum of one minute. Remove the conditioning treatment from the microwave and stir it to further blend.

Section your hair into manageable parts and begin applying the olive oil and honey. Make sure to spread the mixture from your roots to the hair tips. Continue covering your hair with the mixture until there's none left. Place a plastic cap over your hair and sit under a hair dryer for 30 minutes. If you'd prefer to limit the amount of extra heat, warm a towel and cover your head with it for 45 minutes. Finish the process by washing and styling as usual.
  2. Rosemary Olive Oil

  3. Give your hair a hot oil treatment to replenish lost nutrients. Daily styling with curling irons, flat irons, and blow dryers strip necessary oils from your hair and cause it to become dry or brittle. Combine a 1/2 cup of rosemary leaves and a 1/2 cup of olive oil into a plastic container. Heat the mixture in a microwave for one minute. Before you apply the condition remove rosemary leaves. Make sure that the oil is not too hot for your scalp before applying.

Part your hair in several areas and begin applying the rosemary olive oil. Saturate the strands with the mixture from the roots to the tips of your hair. After the application, wrap a towel around your head for 15 minutes. Wash your hair to get rid of the extra oil and for easier styling. Perform this treatment twice a month to promote a healthy scalp and hair growth.
  4. Shampoo & Condition

  5. Rid your hair of built up styling products like mousse and hairspray by shampooing your hair. The washing process quickly strips away the unwanted dirt and oils that tend to build up over time. However, it also takes away some of the good nutrients that are needed to keep your hair healthy. Apply a conditioner to help replace the natural moisturizers and vitamins into your hair.

Enhance your favorite conditioner by adding a tbsp. of honey to it to add extra shine and moisture to your hair. Create a homemade cholesterol treatment by including an egg in your conditioner for stronger and thicker hair. Improve scalp circulation with a vitamin E enhancement added to your conditioner.
