Everything about Miami sizzles. The weather, the nightlife and the people are all hot, hot, hot. But you should not let that intimidate you. With the perfect outfit, a little dazzle and the right attitude, you will have no trouble getting past velvet ropes and burly bouncers to enjoy the true Miami experience.

There is something magical about a night out in Miami. The night doesn't start until midnight and sails right into a magnificent South Beach sunrise, but that's part of the charm. This is important to note, so that you can plan accordingly (meaning, stash a pair of flip-flops and extra cash for a cab for when your feet are killing you at the end of the night). Whether you are hitting the clubs, the hotel bars or art galleries, you can never go wrong with a little black dress (emphasis on little). It's Miami--show your legs, show your arms, just show some skin. High heels are a must; silver, gold or metallic purple strappy heels are always a showstopper. You can look just as sexy in a pair of jeans, as long as they are skinny and dark. Paired with a shimmery top (sparkles are a must) and heels, you will be the queen of the club. Another hot look is hot pants. Short shorts with a flowy, flowery top and, of course, high heels are perfect for a steamy night. Be comfortable and own it. If you have the right attitude, you can get away with wearing anything in Miami.

Oh, the men have it so easy. Guayabera, anyone? Yes, the standard Cuban shirt is always in style, whether worn with linen slacks or vintage plaid pants. Guys can also get away with wearing jeans, as long as the denim is dark and they looked pressed. The other standard for men is a pressed, button-down print shirt (think paisley, plaid or floral) with dark denim or khakis. For footwear, loafers or lace-ups are better than sandals or sneakers.

Beautiful women can pretty much get away with anything (fashion-wise) in Miami. Always remember that your hair is your best accessory, so make it big or iron it flat. And don't forget to gloss up your lips. Think shiny, sparkle and glitz. Miami nightlife is one big party and you want to shine.

Men, on the other hand, need to follow the rules. Shorts are never a good idea, as door attendants are always looking for an excuse to keep the dudes out of the club. Forget the flip-flops, too. And if your sneakers didn't cost more than $200, it's best to leave them at home.
