Harmful toxins build up in your body over time. The Master Cleanse, sometimes called the Lemonade Diet or the Cayenne Pepper and Lemon Cleanse, dissolves the build-up. The results include cleaner kidneys and digestive system, purified cells and nerves, and arteries relieved of pressure the build-up was causing. It can also help you lose weight.
Because you don't want to add toxins to your body while you're cleansing it, the Cayenne Pepper and Lemon Cleanse requires that you drink only lemonade (made from fresh ingredients each day) for at least three days and for as many as 40 days. The routine is simple, but following it is not easy. It tests your self-control: Every day you must overcome the psychological need to eat and choose to drink the lemonade instead. Each time you choose the lemonade, however, your sense of self-control strengthens and motivates you to continue the routine.
Make two liters of lemonade at the start of each day so that you always have access to the drink. To do so, combine 14 tbsp. of fresh-squeezed lemon juice, 14 tbsp. of real, all-natural maple syrup, 1/2 to 1 tsp. cayenne pepper and 2 liters of water. Stir or shake all ingredients and divide the lemonade into two one-liter containers. Depending on your size, you may not be able to drink both liters, or you may want more. Adjust the recipe as necessary, but use all the ingredients. Each plays an important role in the cleansing process. The cayenne pepper breaks up the mucus that is loosened by the lemon juice, as well as provides vitamins B and C. Maple syrup provides additional vitamins and minerals while sweetening the lemonade. All the nutrients you need for the day are in the lemonade.
Drink the lemonade every time you feel hungry throughout the day, followed by a small glass of water. At night, flush your system with 1 liter of salt water or drink a laxative tea to induce bowel movements. This is how your body expels what has built up over time and is being loosened, so you don't want to miss this rather unpleasant step.
During the first two days of the cleanse, you expel what remains in your system from the days just before you stopped eating. The longer you follow the Cayenne Pepper and Lemon Cleanse, the more yellow your waste will become. This is normal.
Slowly incorporate solid food back into your diet when finished with the cleanse to avoid feeling nauseated. Always drink lots of water and start by drinking some fruit juice for a day. The next day drink vegetable juice or broth and more fruit juice. On the third day, eat solid fruits and vegetables, resuming your normal diet on the fourth day.
