Acne Spot Cures
Acne problems can make you want to wear a bag over your head. Perhaps you have gained control of your acne or, fortunately, never had to deal with acne all over the face or back. Still, there are the one or two pimples that show up routinely or randomly. You don't want to irritate the area by covering up the zit with make-up. There are products that you can apply directly to an acne spot to clear up the individual blemish, just look for the right ingredients.

There are three known ingredients that cure acne spots that are effective and available over the counter. Salicylic acid peels off the outer layer of skin. This opens up the acne pore and unclogs the pore of bacteria. Glycolic acid works similarly to salicylic acid by loosening the top layer of epidermis. Benzyl peroxide is the most popular acne-spot cure ingredient. It allows oxygen to enter the irritated pore, killing the acne-causing bacteria. All of these ingredients can be found in a drugstore in acne spot treatments. If one of these ingredients is not the first active ingredient, don't buy it. If you have an important event to attend, look for a treatment that comes in a tinted concealer to camouflage the pimple while it heals.

There are several things you can find in your house that can be used as an acne spot cure. A dab of toothpaste, directly on the pimple can shrink it overnight. You can also try a baking soda paste. Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with two droplets of water and apply to the pimple for 20 minutes. Another home remedy is an aspirin paste. Grind an aspirin into a powder, add a drop of water and apply the paste to the pimple for 30 minutes to cure the spot.
