- The body of the pumpkin Halloween costume is the most important part. There are a number of ways that you can easily make the body of a pumpkin Halloween costume. You can buy orange fabric and sew a basic sack with cut outs for your toddler's head, arms and neck, or you can use a old pillow case and tuck the bottom in to the waste of your child's pants. You can dye a white pillow case orange or if you are lucky find and orange pillow case. Once the sack is on your child you can stuff it to make it more plump in appearance.
- Turn your pumpkin body into a jack-o-lantern by gluing yellow or black felt triangles to it. Cut the shapes of a jack-o-lantern face out of your choice of felt colors and use fabric glue to attach them to your pumpkin body.
- Use green felt triangles and glue them around the neck cut out to make them look like leaves. Then, make the pumpkin top with a headband and felt. Use brown felt to make the stem. Make the stem stand up by gluing it to a piece of cardboard before you attach it to the headband. Then, add a few triangles for leaves. Attach them with fabric glue.
