Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega-3 fatty acids are commonly found in oils and fish. You can also take it directly as a supplement. Omega-3 is said to help with communication centers in the neurons, and this helps with brain functioning and mood swings. Children who fail to get adequate Omega-3 fatty acids early on in life show developmental issues later. Tuna, salmon, mackerel, sardines, oysters, walnuts and flaxseed are excellent sources of Omega-3 fatty acids. Helping this portion of brain function may help with balance and coordination issues.
Antioxidants are so good because they literally help clean out the brain. Good examples of antioxidants include vitamin E, vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid, grape seed extract and vitamin Q10. Adults should get between 400 to 500 IUs of vitamin E, 500 to 1,000 mg of vitamin C and 10 to 50 mg of lipoic acid per day. There is no recommended dosage of vitamin Q10.
There are two different types of vitamin E: 100 mg of alpha tocopherol and 240 mg of tocotrienols is recommended for adults. Vitamin E helps with good blood circulation to the brain, aiding in better brain function, which can be beneficial to balance problems.
