Beginning Games
-
The Funbrain Arcade game is set up like an online board game consisting of over 25 individual computer games. Players choose whether they are male or female, their grade in school and their game piece, then the player moves around the board two spaces for each game they beat. The games are the same but the difficulty changes based on grade level. First is "Penguin Drop." Players control a penguin who must shoot snowballs at other penguins to knock them out of the air. Use the arrow keys to move and the space bar to shoot. If five penguins make it past you, then it's game over. The second is "Mighty Girl" or "Mighty Guy" depending on your gender. You control a stick figure using arrow keys to run, jump and dodge items to complete each level. "Water Bug," the third game, requires players to use the arrow keys to navigate a bug between frogs while eating smaller bugs.
Medium Games
-
After beating these games, you'll move on to the next games on the board. "Roly Poly Rodeo" is up first. The object of the game is to avoid the rolling bugs as they attempt to squash you. Use the arrow keys to move out of their way, and wait until the bugs start rolling before you dodge. For "Creepy Crawlers," you must eat other caterpillars and school buses to grow your own caterpillar in length. Do not eat caterpillars that are the same size as you; they must be smaller or they will eat you instead. The next game, "Switch," is a matching game. Switch fruits that are beside, above or below each other to create a match of three or more. You must work fast and score 4,200 points before time runs out to advance to the next level.
Harder Games
-
Next is "Extreme Air," where players click a skateboarding stick figure to increase his speed. When he reaches the end, he'll have to jump a group of trash cans. If you get enough speed, he'll clear the cans; if not, he'll fall and you'll have to restart. Each level adds a new trash can to jump. For the game "Swarm!", you must eat bugs without being eaten yourself. The trick to this game is to stay in the middle of the screen and move around the bugs at a slow pace. The enemy bugs only move in horizontal and vertical lines, whereas you can move any direction to avoid them. After beating "Swarm!", you'll move on to "Planetary Pinball." This is like the old arcade game Pong. Move a small sphere around your planet to keep aliens from hitting it. After each game you beat, a password will appear on screen. If you need to quit and restart again later, use this password to start where you left off. You can go back and replay games you've already beaten at any time by clicking on them. They will progressively get harder as you work your way through.
