A foot massage is soothing and sometimes sensual.

Giving a foot massage is a romantic way to offer therapeutic relaxation to your significant other. There are many techniques to experiment with when giving a foot massage, from relaxing to sensual, and knowing how to do both can help sooth your partner's achy feet, and may even spice up your relationship.

    Atmosphere

Set up a quiet and dimly lit space where you will have no interruptions, so you can make your partner as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Light a few candles or burn incense with soothing scents like lavender, vanilla and jasmine. Make your bed with absorbent linen bedsheets to prevent oils from soaking into the mattress and cover the area your partner will lay on, with a soft towel. Use a red-tinted lampshade to cast a seductive hue throughout the room to add to the romantic and sensual atmosphere.
  2. Materials

Have the proper materials when giving a sensually therapeutic foot massage. Combining aromatherapy with you massage will turn your partner's feet into putty while you knead and rub them. Keep a gallon of cold-pressed coconut oil in your bathroom to mix your own scented massage oils. Combine essential oils like bergamot, peppermint and lavender with the coconut oil to create an oil that cools the skin of the feet while they are being massaged.
  4. The Massage

  5. Start by grasping one of your partner's feet with both hands, grasping the foot by its narrowest part between the heel and toes. Squeeze the foot a few times to stimulate the circulation and use the balls of your thumbs to apply pressure to the section. Repeat with the other foot and then pour a dime sized amount of massage oil into the palm of your hand before beginning the massage. Start at the ankles and pay extra attention to the Achilles area behind the foot and above the heel with your fingertips. Work your fingers between your partner's toes and gently apply pressure to the sensitive skin. Take the time to gently tug on each of your partner's toes to release air that is trapped in the joints, and rub down the sides of the foot.

Mix it up a bit, and perform a stimulating full-body massage using only your feet. Rub your partner down with the massage oil of your choice and stand on the bed with one foot firmly planted on the mattress. Use your free foot and rub your partner sensually using your toes to provide a pleasing sensation to your partner's body.
