The VaporGenie is a pipe designed to vaporize tobacco instead of burning it. According to the company's website, this reduces the amount of particles and tar that you breathe in. When tobacco is placed in the VaporGenie, it is heated to a temperature of 225 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, eliminating harmful byproducts that are normally released when tobacco is burned. The pipe is made from North American oak wood sealed with natural shellac, giving it a shiny finish.

    Using the VaporGenie

  1. To prepare the VaporGenie for use, loosely fill its bowl with shredded tobacco. Make sure not to pack the tobacco too tightly, as this could cause burning. Screw the flame filter onto the top of the tobacco bowl to protect the tobacco from burning. While inhaling, use a lighter to apply heat to the filter hole. Toke for six to eight seconds.
  2. Proper Flame Technique

  3. When lighting the VaporGenie, use a 1-inch lighter flame and position the flame so that only the tip is entering the filter hole. Avoid touching the flame to the filter, as this could produce soot that eventually will clog the filter and result in an unpleasant taste. It also can burn the wood. If you're holding the lighter correctly, the yellow portion of the flame should be outside of the hole.
  4. Changing the Temperature

  5. If you toke on the pipe and don't feel like you are inhaling any tobacco, this is an indication that the VaporGenie's temperature is too low. To increase the temperature, inhale slowly. If you feel as though you are inhaling too much tobacco, the temperature may be too high. To decrease the pipe's temperature, inhale faster.
  6. Caring for the VaporGenie

  7. Although the VaporGenie does not produce as much tar as regular pipes, it does need to be cleaned occasionally. To remove the screen for cleaning, pull it out of the pipe using tweezers. Wire coils hold the screen in place, and you also can remove them for cleaning. Carefully remove the wire coils by pulling on them with a pair of pliers. Clean the wire coil and screen by soaking them in alcohol. To clean the steel bowl, dip a cotton swab in alcohol and swab out the inside of the bowl. To clean the VaporGenie's mouthpiece, insert one or two pipe cleaners through one end of the pipe and pull through the other end with a pliers.
