Picture Not Correct Shape

Video of the Day

The picture on your Mitsubishi HDTV may appear distorted when viewing certain channels or video. Different signal types may cause this to happen. To correct the picture, press the "FORMAT" button to change the shape of the picture. Continue pressing the button until the picture appears correct on the screen. The television will save the setting according to the input method and signal type and adjust the screen accordingly if it detects the input signal type on future viewings.

If the system reset button does not fix the problem, run a full TV reset. This will clear all of the settings in the TV and return it to the original factory settings. To run a full TV reset, press the "MENU" button and then "1," "2" and "3" on the remote keypad. Press the "Enter" button to start the reset. The indicator light on the front of the television will blink. Once it stops, you can turn your television on again.

TV Shuts Off By Itself

Several problems may cause your Mitsubishi television to shut off by itself. When the television shuts off, check if a blue indicator light is blinking on the front of the television. If the light isn't blinking, the plug likely became dislodged from the electrical socket or a fuse was blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Plug the television in, replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker as needed.

If the light is blinking, a power surge or unusual digital signal was detected by the television. To prevent damage, the television shut itself off. Wait until the light stops blinking before attempting to turn the television on again. You may find the television shuts continues to shut off after the surge or unusual digital signal. Reset the system when this occurs.

System Reset

Mitsubishi HDTVs may require a reset from time to time to clear out any errors in the system. The system reset should be done if the television operates abnormally for long periods of time, such as if the television shuts off by itself frequently. To use the system reset, press the "System Reset" button on the side panel. The button is located in the small hole and needs to be pressed with the end of a paper clip or other small, pointy object. The television will turn off and the indicator light will blink. When the light stops blinking, turn on the television again.
