- Golfers should wear a golf glove on their top hand when gripping a golf club. Right-handed golfers wear a glove on their left hand; left-handed golfers wear one on their right hand. The top hand is responsible for about 70 percent of the strength of the grip, and must hold tighter as the club swings through the ball to keep the club from flying loose.
- Some golfers wear a glove on both hands. Generally, this practice is more popular among women, but some men wear two gloves as well. Wearing a golf glove on both hands also provides extra protection against chafing and blistering.
