A golf glove is an essential piece of equipment. It maintains a firm hold on the club during the swing with a tacky surface that limits the effect of dust and sweat on the tactile hold of your fingers. Be sure to wear your golf glove on the correct hand to gain the full advantage.

    Top hand

  1. Golfers should wear a golf glove on their top hand when gripping a golf club. Right-handed golfers wear a glove on their left hand; left-handed golfers wear one on their right hand. The top hand is responsible for about 70 percent of the strength of the grip, and must hold tighter as the club swings through the ball to keep the club from flying loose.
  2. Both hands

  3. Some golfers wear a glove on both hands. Generally, this practice is more popular among women, but some men wear two gloves as well. Wearing a golf glove on both hands also provides extra protection against chafing and blistering.
