Different Hairstyle Ideas With Bangs

Bangs redefine a classic hair style.
Bangs redefine a classic hair style.

Many women long to discover a hair style that is both fresh and appropriate for their facial features. One classic favorite "do" is bangs. Hairstyles with bangs can be sophisticated, carefree, or dramatic. There are many different types of hair cuts with bangs and countless interchangeable styling options. Discover your favorite hair style with bangs and channel it into your own tresses for a face-framing, fresh look.

    Side-Swept Bangs with Curls

  1. Soft, side-swept bangs are flattering on many different face shapes and features. Pairing side-swept bangs with curls is a perfect look for both casual and elegant occasions. This hair style works best if bangs are long enough to fall into the eyes. If you like this look, ask your hair stylist to edge bangs with a razor, creating definition and angles. Additionally, consider adding in long-hair layers to soften chiseled facial features. While hair is wet, part hair to the side. Comb bangs to the side and blow dry in the direction you want them to sweep across. Create gentle waves throughout the entire hair style by blow-drying locks with a round brush and curling with a 2" curling iron. Run fingers throughout the hair to separate the curls, and add a texturizing product as needed. With this look, you can curl the bangs with a large-barrel curling iron, straighten them to create a smooth look across the forehead, or allow them to dry naturally. Use an anti-frizz serum, if necessary. Spritz with a light hair spray to hold hair in place for the entire day.
  2. Wispy Bangs with Carefree Hair

  3. If you are hesitant about changing your look too drastically, consider getting thin, wispy bangs that hit just beneath the eyebrows. These layers add just enough interest to create a fresh, soft new hair style, but are subtle enough to be pinned back or brushed to the side. This hair style also works well on women with naturally wavy hair. Comb wet bangs forward across the forehead and allow them to air dry (a blow-dryer to the bangs can create a rounded look). Dry the rest of your hair with a paddle brush, creating smooth lines for hair that is easy to manage throughout the day. Rub a few drops of anti-frizz hair serum through your locks.
  4. Thick Bangs and Straight, Dramatic Hair

  5. The most dramatic hairstyle with bangs is thick, straight, wide-cut bangs. This creates drama on straight, thick hair of any length. Talk to your hair stylist about cutting thick bangs, wide across the forehead, that will rest at mid-eye level when fully dry. A knowledgeable professional can create this look without taking much of total hair length. Additionally, consider adding in layers around the face or cutting your hair into a short, sharp bob for increased edginess. Apply a hair-straightening product to wet hair and blow-dry in small sections with a paddle brush. Pull bangs taut downward to help create the sharp, blunt look. Smooth dry hair (in two-inch sections) through an ionic ceramic flat-iron and reduce frizz with an anti-humidity serum.
