Use rough or textured paper throughout the scrapbook. Corrugated cardboard, handmade paper and cut and crumpled paper from a brown paper bag can visually represent dirt and mud in the scrapbook.
Entire brochures or advertisements for motocross bikes or races can be glued to the pages of the book to make a colorful statement. Cut out images or logs from these pre-printed glossy materials to use as embellishments in the scrapbook.
Stamp your own tire tracks on paper by pressing a small rectangular sponge into some stamping ink and making a line of tracks, with a space between each rectangle, across the paper. Repeat the line, parallel to the first, from three to five times to make a tire track mark. -
Once the pages in the scrapbook have been decorated and roughened up a bit, add titles and prepare some text to use. The titles may be written diagonally across the page, across the top of the page, or across the top of two pages. Give the titles a true motocross feel and alternate the letters in titles by placing the first one high up and the second one slightly lower, followed by a higher one. This will add movement to the page. Cut out letters from magazines and use letters from different words, in different colors and fonts for a wild motocross feel.
Prepare text stickers to use across the pages to embellish photos and memorabilia. The stickers can be created on a computer and printed on sticker paper. Or draw some on paper, cut them out and glue them on the pages using acid-free glue. Words and phrases to use for motocross scrapbook stickers include Jump, Go Big, Stoked, Got Dirt, Go4It, Motocross and Freestyle. -
Assemble the scrapbook as you accumulate memorabilia, or sit down and devote a couple of hourly sessions to creating the entire scrapbook. Each page should have one dominant element--a photo of you or a favorite racer on a motocross bike, for example. Glue the main photo first and add embellishments.
Embellishments can include extra text, saved tickets from races or even pieces of fabric from motocross shirts that have seen better days. For a consistent look throughout the motocross scrapbook, either use the same layout on every page or repeat one or more of the same elements or colors every couple of pages.
