At levels 5, 15, and 30 you will get free cloning tokens, and additional ones can be acquired through quests such as the "Target of Opportunity." Cloning carries over your character and accomplishments up to that point, but leaves your gear and money, as well as your attribute and skill points, unspent. (As a reminder: quests don't transfer so if you have one that needs to be completed do it before you clone.)
The trick here is to maximize your cloning tokens by not spending your first cloning token at level 5 when you receive it. By waiting until right before you level to 15 to use your token, your clone will almost instantly level and receive another cloning token. If you wait until after 15 to clone, your clone will be left with no tokens. Taking advantage of this trick gives you extra tokens, and it can be repeated before level 30 as well by cloning again, just before you level.
By using this trick, you can try all four classes. If you follow the trick at 15, leaving you with two characters each with one cloning token, and they both specialize. If both of these characters clone again at 29, and the new clones can specialize into the other options. So you are left with four characters, all with one clone token, one of each specialty.
Using this trick will save you a lot of time in leveling characters.
