Moisturize and exfoliate your skin in one step by using an olive oil and sugar scrub. The sugar causes dead skin cells to shed faster from the outer layer of skin, revealing softer and healthier new skin. The olive oil adds moisture to the skin. Moisture temporarily plumps the skin, which decreases the appearance of wrinkles and makes the skin look smoother.
You can make your own olive oil and sugar scrub by slowly adding olive oil to 1 tbsp. of white granulated sugar, mixing them with a spoon as you pour. Add just enough olive oil to make a thick paste. Use the scrub on your skin once every other day. Apply the scrub using gentle circular motions. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel to reveal smoother skin. - Apply a black clay mask to your skin once a week. Smooth the black clay mask onto your skin and wait for it to completely dry before rinsing it off. You will know when the mask is dry because it will become hard. As the clay hardens, it pulls the impurities out of your pores. Clean pores make the skin look clear and smooth. Black clay masks are sold at beauty supply stores and drug stores.
- Minimize the amount of makeup and cosmetics you use. While cosmetics and skin creams temporarily make your skin look smooth and refreshed, they make your skin less smooth in the long run. Cosmetics and skin creams coat the skin so that the pores cannot breathe, which makes the skin less healthy and less smooth.
