Lose 10 pounds quickly by eating healthier foods and exercising. You don't have to starve yourself. In fact, starvation is not the answer. And you don't have to work out constantly. Eat the right foods in the right portion sizes to help lose that extra weight. Exercise regularly to get fast results and lose the extra weight you've been carrying around.

      • Start by drinking a lot of water. Low-fat milk is also a great choice because it provides essential calcium and some protein, too. Cut out all soft drinks, both regular and diet. Regular soft drinks contain a lot of sugar, which means you're consuming empty calories.         Eat dairy products such as low-fat cheese, low-fat milk and yogurt. Eating low-fat dairy products has been shown to help some people lose weight.

        Eat high-fat foods and fried foods in very small amounts. Eliminate them if possible. Eat healthy alternatives such as salads and grilled chicken. Mustard is a great low-calorie substitute for mayonnaise, which is very high in fat and calories.

        Eat smaller meals frequently throughout the day to keep your energy levels and metabolism steady. Aim to eat about five small meals each day.

      • Exercise regularly to help with fast weight loss. Aim to exercise at least three times a week, preferably five times. Work out for at least 30 minutes each time. The longer you work out, the more calories you'll burn--which leads to weight loss. If you work out for 45 minutes each time, you'll see results faster and probably won't notice the extra 15 minutes.

        Do high-calorie-burning aerobic exercises such as running, biking, high-impact aerobics, swimming, kickboxing, inline skating or using the elliptical machine. Alternate which exercises you do each week to burn the most calories by providing your body with new challenges.

        Pick exercises that you enjoy so that you will actually exercise. If you don't enjoy the exercise, you are less likely to work out. It's also a good idea to find an exercise buddy who will encourage you to stick to your exercise schedule.

        Do strength training. It is an important part of your overall fitness routine and will help you burn more calories. You don't have to go to a gym to do strength training. You can use dumbbells, resistance bands and your own body weight to get a complete strength training workout.
