On occasion, Whirlpool Super Capacity washing machines will not operate as normal. Most problems are common and easy to fix. You can save time and money on servicing your washing machine by troubleshooting and fixing the problem yourself.
Whirlpool Super Capacity washers will occasionally make more frequent and louder noises than normal washer noises. This most often occurs when the wash load is unbalanced or overloaded. When placing clothes in the washer basket, make sure that they are distributed evenly throughout the basket. Do not overload the basket.
Another reason for a noisy washer is the unit is not resting level on the floor. Check that the front legs on the machine are properly installed and fully tightened. You may need to readjust the rear legs to make the machine sit level on the floor.
Leaks from Whirlpool Super Capacity washers are most often caused by problems with the hoses. Make sure all of the connections are properly fitted and tight and that the washers are seated correctly. Check the drain hose clamp and make sure that is properly installed.
As when the washer is too noisy, check that the load is balanced, not overfull and that the washer is level. Water might deflect off of the wash load and cause a leak. Balance the load and level the washer.
Washer Won't Run or Stops
There are multiple reasons why Whirlpool Super Capacity washers won't operate or shut down in the middle of a load. First, Whirlpool Super Capacity washers may pause for several minutes during some wash cycles. This is normal for the machine and should not be viewed as a problem. Wait a few minutes to see if the machine starts again before performing any troubleshooting steps.
Next, check that the power cord is plugged into a power outlet and that the power outlet is live. You may want to plug a different device into the outlet to make sure it is live.
Check the "Timer" knob on the device and make sure it is lined up with one of the cycle options. Turn the knob a little to the right and pull it out to start operation.
Next, check the if the inlet valve filter screens are clogged. Unplug the washer and turn off the water. Remove the inlet hoses and clean off the screens. Reattach the hoses and turn on the water. Check for any leaks and, if the hoses are secure, plug the washer back into the power outlet.
Finally, if normal operation still has not resumed, check that both the hot and cold water faucets are on and that the hoses aren't kinked. Make sure washer isn't overloaded with laundry and that the lid is fully closed.
