Frizzy curls are often the result of dry or damaged hair. To change the look of your curls, trim your hair regularly and moisturize with conditioner as often as necessary. You may have to switch your brand of conditioner to a type with better moisturizing agents, and use a silicon-based shampoo that helps minimize frizz. Deep condition your curls once a week and use a clarifying shampoo as needed. Clarifying shampoo gets rid of product buildup.

Trim your hair as suggested by your stylist. Damaged ends can't be repaired and often frizz, despite the amount of conditioner you use. Depending on how tight your curls are, your stylist may suggest a layered cut to reduce the thickness at the bottom of your curls.

Switch your shampoo to a brand that contains silicone and use a moisturizing conditioner. Deep condition your hair at least once per week. A deep-conditioning treatment is available where hair products are sold and aren't meant for daily use.

Leave conditioner in your hair for several minutes before rinsing it out. Rinse your hair in cold water to lock in the moisturizer and towel dry gently.

Apply a lightweight leave-in conditioner to towel-dried hair, which helps de-tangle curls. Brush your hair using a boar-bristled brush, which reduces pulling, ripping and hair damage, or use a wide-toothed comb. Brush or comb gently.

Dry your hair using the low setting on your blow dryer. Twist sections of your hair, pulling the twist straight down as you dry it. Just before your hair is completely dry, switch to your dryer's cool setting to lock in moisture and minimize frizz.

Run a finishing cream or spray through your curls. Look for a product that decreases frizz and keeps your style in place. Avoid drying products, such as gel and hairspray, which may set your curls but also dries out your hair.
