Nearly everyone likes a long, lean body, both men and women. Most female runway models must be 5'8" or taller, and men are traditionally expected to be taller than the woman they're dating. Although your body is prone to be a certain height, with the proper combination of exercise, nutrition, and rest, you can add inches to your body height—permanently.
Stretching exercises can elongate the body, making it taller and more slender. The goal is to stretch all the muscles in the upper body, specifically targeting the back muscles, straightening and lengthening the spine and leading to added body height. Activities like yoga and Pilates focus on stretching and strengthening the muscles that provide spinal support, as do sit-ups, push-ups, and pull-ups. Just 15 minutes of Pilates or yoga each day can add up to three inches to your body height, permanently. Also do at least 20 reps three times per day of any combination of sit-ups, push-ups, or pull-ups.
Nutritional supplements are also important in promoting increased body height. Growth-enhancing supplements can be found in all vitamin stores, and all contain the same basic nutrients. Amino acids, glucosamine, and a variety of other multivitamins are proportioned perfectly into each pill, allowing for maximum body growth.
The human body requires an average of eight hours of sleep each night. This is crucial in adding height to the body, as sleeping allows your body to recharge and repair any damages. Getting the proper amount of rest each night will also allow you to more easily complete daily activities, and give you the energy to stick to a workout routine.
A slouched posture can make you appear two to three inches shorter than you really are. Instead of hunching over, make sure to practice good posture by keeping your shoulders back, chest out, and head raised. Not only will you appear taller, you'll also look much more confident with a strong posture.
