For many individuals, email is the go-to form of communication. With an email account, you can contact any other individual who has an email address, without worrying if she will be home and without having to pay a long-distance fee. Best of all, new email accounts, such as the ones offered from MSN, are free to use and you can sign up and create your new account in only a couple of minutes.

    Signing Up for an Account

  1. Go to "Hotmail.com." This is the MSN email website. Once you arrive at the site, click on "Sign Up." Type in your desired email address name and password, followed by your personal information (such as your name, mailing address and birth year).
  2. Sign In

  3. Sign into your email account. If you are not automatically signed in after you create your account, you can do this by going to "Hotmail.com" and typing in your account name and password.
  4. Check Your Messages

  5. When you first start off, you probably won't have any messages (outside the one welcome message from MSN). However, as you use your email account more and more, you will receive both messages from contacts and junk mail. Most junk mail will be screened and placed into your "Junk" folder. You can access this folder by selecting the "Junk" tab on the left side of the screen. If you want to bring the junk mail into your Inbox, check the box next to it and click "Not Junk." The message will now be placed in the Inbox.

Open your Inbox by clicking the "Inbox" tab on the left side of the screen. If you want to delete the message, check the box next to it and click "Delete."
