The Pur water filter with an electronic indicator is a water purification system for your home. The unit consists of a pitcher with an attached filter. Water is placed in the top of the pitcher and is dispersed through a filter that removes impurities. The electronic indicator lets you know when it's time to change the filter, so you're always drinking clean water.
Thoroughly clean all parts of the Pur water filter unit prior to use to remove any dust that may have collected when the unit was packaged and shipped. Submerge the filter in a pitcher of water for at least 15 minutes prior to use. While it is soaking, wash the pitcher, pour tray and lid in warm, soapy water and allow them to air dry.
When the 15 minutes is up, take the filter out of the water and flush it with cold, running water for approximately 10 seconds. You are now ready to put the Pur water filter unit together.
Setup and Use
Place the pour tray into the pitcher. Insert the narrow end of the filter into the hole in the middle of the pour tray. Once the filter cannot be pushed down any further, twist it clockwise to lock it into place. The filter is locked when you cannot turn it any further. Be careful not to twist too hard when placing the filter in the pour tray, as you don't want to damage either part of the unit.
Pour cold water into the pour tray. The water will drain into the pitcher through the filter, which will trap impurities in the water. Be sure to use cold water, as hot water could damage the filter. Wait until the water has fully drained into the pitcher before drinking the water.
Place the lid on the pitcher and press the "Reset" button for 5 seconds, or until the light flashes green. The "Reset" button and the indicator light are both found on top of the lid. Every time you pour water from the Pur water filter pitcher, the indicator light will blink. When the light is green, the filter is working fine. If the light turns yellow, then the filter will need to be changed soon. Once the light turns red, you need to replace the filter to ensure proper filtration.
To change the filter, take the lid off of the pitcher and twist the filter counterclockwise until it can be pulled out of the pour tray. Place a new filter in the pour tray as described above. Reset the indicator light once the lid is placed back on the pitcher.
