Valentine's Day for little girls can be a good excuse to have some special time with a daughter, niece or young friend. With the concentration on spending time together instead of just buying a gift, you can provide a perfect Valentine's Day she's sure to remember.

    Valentine's Day Cookies

  1. Heart shaped cookies

Girls of all ages like sweets and some home-made or specially ordered sugar cookie hearts with decorative frosting always hits the spot. There are many specialty cookie bakeries online so order up some special cookies for your girl that say, "I love you," or "Daddy's Girl" in pink or red frosting. Include a gift certificate for a special day of baking with Mommy or a special Valentine's dinner with Daddy.
  2. Day of Beauty and Fun

Give your daughter a collection of hair accessories and child's makeup including lip glosses and fun "tattoos" of fairies and stars. Spend some time together coming up with new hairstyles and applying tattoos before heading out to her favorite ice cream parlor or restaurant for a special Valentine's lunch. Top it off with some costume jewelry like a pink sparkly heart necklace or for older girls make it a special day by getting her ears pierced! A day like this can be a fun pamper day without putting too much emphasis on "beauty."
  4. Music

  5. The ideal gift for your soon to be "American Idol," a gift of music can make a Valentine's Day extra special. Pick up an inexpensive karaoke machine toy that your girl can play with with her friends. You can also select a child's microphone and music player for solo fun. Make a stage background together on a large piece of cardboard and paint with some acrylic paints to put in her room to further the fantasy of being a singing star.
  6. Special Valentine's Toy

  7. Teddy bear with heart

Take your daughter to a special teddy bear store where children can create their own teddy bear complete with clothing that can mark the special Valentine's Day occasion. Put the bear together as a team and allow the girl to select a special holiday outfit for the toy. A special holiday bear with a heart on it can remind little girls that they are loved for years to come.
  8. Hobby

  9. beads

For older girls a creative new hobby such as jewelry making or beading can be a Valentine's Day gift that keeps on giving. Introduce your child to a craft project by buying a beaded jewelry kit or purse making kit. Learn how to do the project together and select a Valentine's theme for the first project. Be prepared to buy additional supplies as jewelry making or any hobby craft can be addictive and set your child on a mission to make gifts for friends and family.
