Birthday Collage Ideas

A birthday collage is a good way to let a friend or family member know how special they are. We all have old photos, and many of us have kept items in remembrance of a special time with someone. Typically, these items are tucked away in a box in the closet, or at the bottom of a drawer full of clothes. If those things are special, and were kept to be a remembrance, the job is not getting done in those out-of-the way places.

Life Collage

Gather photos of the birthday person from birth to present. If necessary, enlist the help of other friends and family members to have a more interesting collage. Include photos taken with friends or alone, or with pets. Add funny pictures that were captured of your friend eating, sleeping or participating in her favorite sport. Incorporate stubs from old movies and concert tickets, as well as the programs from any plays or special events they were part of.

Age Collage

Gather photos and lay them out so that they form the age of the birthday person. You can use a smaller number of pictures for younger people, and a larger amount for those who are celebrating later years. Use a black background, and use their favorite color as the border. Be sure to include photos taken at special events and in a variety of places.

Mixed Collage

This collage can be a mix of everything that makes up the personality of the birthday person. Besides using photos of them with family, friends, and pets, also include pictures of their favorite foods, snacks, and drinks, brands of items that they prefer, and a favorite quote or saying. Use images that convey their interests, such as a treble clef for someone who has a passion for music, or a cross for someone of a spiritual nature. This type of collage is intended to be all encompassing with regard to the personality of the recipient, so use anything you like to add more depth.
